Detailed roster by position

What are the bad news for Gregg Berhalter?

The bad news for the 47-years-old coach are mainly related to the absence of the Juventus new signing Weston McKennie who has been carrying a hip injury – he is the most notable omission on Berhalter’s roster. Timothy Weah who plays for the French side LOSC Lille and the midfielder Tylor Adams (RB Leipzig) have been withdrawn from the roster due to quarantine requirements in their respective areas.

The players who won’t take part in these friendly games are right-back DeAndre Yedlin, Genk center-back Mark McKenzie and Schalke‘s forward Matthew Hoppe. They didn’t get calls for various reasons.

What are the good news for Gregg Berhalter?

The good news are that the forward Nicholas Gioacchini who initally had been withdrawn due to COVID restrictions too has been recently readmitted to the USMNT’s training camp roster. In addition to this, TSC Hoffenheim’s center-back Chris Richards who can play also as left- and right-back along with strikers Giovanni Reyna and Josh Sargent will be allowed to travel for the game against Northern Ireland after previously only being on the roster for the encounter with Jamaica.
